Ahead of the arrival of their self-titled third album, alt-indie darlings Dizzy grace us with their mesmerizing new single, “Close.” This latest offering effortlessly intertwines dreamy melodies, introspective lyrics, and lush production. With their signature sweetness that’s both delightful and addictive, “Close” presents a sonic landscape drenched in raw intimacy and vulnerability.
From the opening notes, “Close” envelops you into a hazy dreamlike soundscape. Lead vocalist Katie Munshaw’s captivating delivery captures the delicate balance between comfort and loss that comes with maintaining a long-term friendship amidst life’s unpredictable tides. Munshaw’s sensational vocals are meticulously layered, weaving together to heighten the emotional impact of the track. The interplay between shimmering guitars and intricate percussion creates a sonic tapestry that is at once expansive and intimate, inviting listeners to get lost in its enchanting embrace.

“Back in 2019 we were on tour in Eau Claire, Wisconsin when the wheel bearing on our van went kaputz on American Thanksgiving,” Munshaw shares. “It was a hard day but the only thing I can really remember about it is laughing in the mechanics waiting room and then finding our way back to a hotel with a bottle of green room whiskey. We’ve been through a lot as a band but we always manage to reconnect on itchy hotel beds between episodes of ‘Family Guy.’ ‘Close’ is about a lot of things but mainly it’s about the comfort Mack, Charlie, and Alex bring me.”
The accompanying music video for “Close” further enhances the song’s impact, with its visually simple aesthetics and thought-provoking storytelling. It beautifully captures the essence of the track, showcasing the band’s artistic vision and adding another layer of depth to the overall experience. Check out Dizzy’s latest offering “Close” below.
