Diva Bleach, recently hailed as one of idobi Radio’s 100 Rising Artists To Listen To In 2024, continues to dazzle with the release of their debut on InVogue Records, “Kiss Her Goodbye,” which arrived in November 2023. Effortlessly infusing their glitter-soaked alt-pop with a radiant confidence akin to The Veronicas, Diva Bleach is forging a distinctive and enthralling musical path of their own. Not only have the pair secured a spot on this year’s Sad Summer Fest alongside headliners Mayday Parade and The Maine, but the duo will also serve as the opening support act for Young Rising Sons across their upcoming spring tour, which will kick off on April 12.

While Sydney Roten and Brie Ritter—the creative forces behind Diva Bleach—anticipate an exciting 2024, their potential knows no bounds for these two rising stars. Kicking off March 2024’s International Women’s Month, Roten and Ritter shared with idobi Radio the five femme-coded bands and artists that have influenced them as they grow as musicians themselves. And that *absolutely* slap! Check out their selections below.

Hey Monday

We both found Hey Monday in our early teen years and were drawn to Cassadee Pope’s powerhouse vocals. Her melodies have a great way of combining pop and emo influences, creating super catchy hooks. Their songs really made them stand out in the early 2000s pop punk/emo scene with bubbly melodies and fun lyrics.

Tessa Violet

I discovered Tessa Violet when she was a YouTube creator in the early 2010s, and it’s been really cool to see her grow as an artist during the past decade. When we started Diva Bleach, opening for Tessa Violet in Tempe, AZ, was the second show we played as a band. Her captivating stage presence has inspired me to become a better frontwoman and performer. —Sydney Roten

PVRIS

Lynn Gunn is an absolute force to be reckoned with. I remember hearing their music for the first time and being completely blown away by the raw power and energy in their songs. There’s something really cool about bands who have elevated their sound through the years while staying very true to themselves, and PVRIS only gets better and stronger with every release. —Brie Ritter

Pale Waves

Who Am I? is a no-skip album. When I first heard Heather Baron-Gracie sing, I was instantly hooked on her airy yet powerful vocals. The lyrics in Pale Waves’ song “Easy” and “She’s My Religion” effectively paint a picture in the listener’s head of what it’s like to be in love. Heather’s writing constantly inspires me as a musician. —Sydney Roten

Nova Twins

I’ve been hyper-fixating on Nova Twins since the release of their album Supernova. The lyrics in every song are so incredibly witty and fun. Amy Love’s voice has a very unique bite to it that delivers lines with attitude and flair. Every song has such depth in the instrumentation. They’ve created a really energizing sound that’s only amplified by their stage presence. Also, the fashion they bring to shows and events is also stunning. They make most of their outfits, which has me in total awe! —Brie Ritter
