Dayseeker is stripping down their sound on their upcoming acoustic album, Replica. With the album announcement, they also dropped a reimagined version of“Burial Plot” featuring Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo. The track, which initially appeared on the group’s 2019 full-length Sleeptalk, incorporates a handy-dandy guitar and elevates itself through other vocal additions.
Partnering with two powerhouse vocalists like Shomo and Dayseeker’s Rory Rodriguez, generates an evocative sound that makes this reimagined rendition stand out above the group’s original version of the track. The reverberation in play with the vocals creates an atmosphere for the listener that assists with impacting the message of love, loss, and regret.
Aside from Shomo, Holding Absence’s Lucas Woodland and indie artist Amber DeLaRosa add their flair to other tracks across the tracklisting. For OG hard rock fans, the Californians covered the somber Evanescence single, “My Immortal.” The pivot to this slowed-down path for the act showcases their dynamic ability to make music. Rodriguez explains, “Replica is one of our favorite releases to date. It completely shows a new side to our band and the kind of music we’re capable of creating.”

What triggered this idea came from improvising during their Blue Ridge Rock Fest set. “I felt like we let people down, but I had so many friends say, ‘Everyone will remember the day your equipment stopped working and you still played the set as a really special moment,‘” he says. “It felt natural for our songs.”
The LP drops on April 19 on digital platforms, with a physical release on June 14 via Spinefarm. Fans can catch them on their spring tour with Polaris, Rain City Drive, and more as support. For more info and to grab tickets, visit their site.
