Sydney Australia-based rising rockers RedHook recruited Welsh quartet Holding Absence to craft the daring collab “Dr. Frankenstein.” RedHook vocalist Emmy Mack notes, “‘Dr. Frankenstein’ tells the story of a fairytale romance that rapidly devolves into a nightmare as one partner displays increasingly more possessive and controlling behavior. But the bridge then hits us with a plot twist by suggesting that this emotional abuse may have spawned from the other partner being dishonest and unfaithful, thus posing several questions for us to consider: who is the real monster in this situation? Dayseeker has delivered a reimagined version of their single, “Neon Grave.” The post-hardcore act is exploring the slower, acoustic side of themselves with their upcoming album, Replica. It drops on April 19 via Spinefarm and showcases how the group can maneuver between different sound spaces. Agony and loss mixed with heartbreak are prevalent in this version. Dayseeker releases their haunting cover of Evanescence’s song, “My Immortal.” The track will be on their upcoming acoustic album, Replica, which drops on April 19 via Spinefarm. Standing in a studio with vocalist Rory Rodriguez and guitarist Gino Sgambelluri, they paint a sad picture emphasizing the theme of isolated grief. When the chorus builds up, the emotional tangent Rodriguez rips into is simplistically gripping. It is a rare feat when it comes to reimagining classic works… Read more »

The track, which initially appeared on the group’s 2019 full-length Sleeptalk, incorporates a handy-dandy guitar and elevates itself through other vocal additions. Partnering with two powerhouse vocalists like Shomo and Dayseeker’s Rory Rodriguez, generates an evocative sound that makes this reimagined rendition stand out above the group’s original version of the track. The reverberation in play with the vocals creates an atmosphere for the listener that assists with impacting the message… Read more »
