New York City’s post-hardcore quartet Common Sage is having a massive year. After recently signing to Equal Vision Records, the act teamed up Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly and guitarist Steve Pedulla to craft the urgent punk-tinged “Edin” and its accompanying black and white music video.
The track perfectly unites sonics from the genre legends and tomorrow’s alternative stars. “Edin” is just one of three songs set to appear on Common Sage‘s forthcoming EP, Nostos | Algos, which is due out on July 24. Check out the new Common Sage and Thursday collab for “Edin” below.
“Edin” Lyrics:
Salt on your tongue
Bleed this one out
Savor the fabrication
Your lungs are weak
Taste just like glass
I should’ve seen this coming
Write me a list, write me a list, black out the revelation
Write me a list, write me a list, edit the script until its worn
Please don’t beg
Never spoken, always ringing out
In my head
I always seem to lose
Relive every moment til’ it’s spent
Recite lines until they stop making sense
Start again
Call off the search
Caught red in hand
I stole what I was given
Paint me deceit
Thoughts left a wreck
It never ends, it never ends
Write me a list, write me a list, black out the revelation, please
Write me a list, write me a list, replace my name with others lost
And so it goes
Please don’t beg
Never spoken, always ringing out
In my head
I always seem to lose
Just follow every word until they all stop making sense
Start again
