On the brink of the release of their upcoming album Five Dice, All Threes, Bright Eyes have dropped their latest single from the full-length “Rainbow Overpass” featuring Alex Orange Drink of The So So Glos. Known to go big, it makes sense for the band to also announce an extensive North American Tour.

The track follows their June release of “Bells And Whistles.” Where that song utilized easy-going instrumentations, “Rainbow Overpass” features gritty hits and fast-moving rhythms. Though they’ve collaborated before, vocalist Conor Oberst says this is the first time Alex has sung on one of their tracks.

“He’s kinda like my hype man,” Oberst shares.”Getting a little Beastie Boys on the shit! They grew up on punk rock and the Beasties, so there are a lot of little bursts of other voices. I like that. It creates energy. Sometimes music can feel flat until you get into a live situation, when there’s adrenaline and raw energy. Instead of working in reverse, where that happens as we tour, I was trying to get some of that energy onto the record.”

“Rainbow Overpass” will be featured on the band’s upcoming release, Five Dice, All Threes, and is available to stream here. The album drops on August 20 and is available for preorder via Dead Oceans.

Alongside the release, Bright Eyes also announced a huge North American Tour. The run extends from September 2024 to April 2025, with a brief run through Europe in October and November. Tickets for the North American dates are on presale here, with general going on sale Friday, August 9.
