Bishop Briggs is back in her new era with the yearning, sultry pop-rock track and accompanying music video for “Mona Lisa On A Mattress.” Preceded by January 24 one-off single “Triumph,” the new track is set to appear on her forthcoming record Tell My Therapist I’m Fine, due out October 18 via Virgin Records.
Bishop Briggs shares, “’Mona Lisa On A Mattress’ is about a messy, sexy, toxic relationship I fell hopelessly into. I wrote it with one of my close friends, Jack LaFrantz, who helped me laugh my way through this chapter of girlhood I hadn’t quite unpacked.”
These themes are prevalent in the urgent, soaring chorus. “You say I’m pretty like an actress/Your Mona Lisa on a mattress/Want you to light a million matches/Burn up my heart until it’s ashes, ashes,” Bishop Briggs sings.

Of the record, Bishop Briggs took to Instagram to note that “it’s about the messiness of being a human and everything in between. I CAN’T WAIT for you to hear it!”
