Beauty School Dropout Are Just “dying to be you”

Beauty School Dropout are on such a roll right now. After releasing their debut album, We Made Plans & God Laughed, last year, they kicked off 2023 by joining forces with jxdn on the infectious “Freak”. And now they are back with another new track, and it’s another absolute belter.

It’s called “dying to be you”, and feels like a fever dream of alternative music. Combining the rallying calls of pop punk with the disjointed refrains of punk, it ebbs and flows with furious energy. Channelling all of their angst into their instruments, the result is a pit-spinning anthem from a band that continues to have plenty of surprises up their sleeves.

The band had this to say about it:

“As if that would make the problems go away. The fact of the matter is life is a game where you have to play with the cards you were dealt and this song is the realization of that truth.”
