On the heels of their forthcoming album, ABEYANCE, which is set to drop on June 16 via Resist Records, the Australian five-piece alt. have returned with their brutally crushing new single, “APEP.” The new track, which follows their previously released singles “WRAITH,” “THE GREAT DEPRESSION,” and “A.D.D,” also features Void Of Vision’s frontman Jack Bergin.
“APEP”’s explosive opening sequence, featuring a conquering guitar riff and powerful percussion, effortlessly creates a sense of controlled chaos emanating from the group. The new single is also accompanied by a gritty, cinematic music video further cementing the urgency and anarchy of the release. You can check out the video for “APEP” below.
“‘APEP’ is the Egyptian god of chaos and he is consuming our world,” vocalist Daniel Richards explains. “We see his impacts through the pandemic, our corrupt governments, and social media being used as a weapon to divide people. We need to realize we are not the enemy—we haven’t done this to ourselves or each other. We’re being used and it’s time to stand up and fight or this chaos will devour us all.”

The group’s forthcoming sophomore, ABEYANCE, will follow up their 2020 album dysfunctional. Working alongside Marcus Bridge (Northlane), Landon Tewers (The Plot In You), Zach Britt (Dream On, Dreamer), Trenton Woodley (Hands Like Houses), and producer Callan Orr, ABEYANCE features 10 meticulously selected new tracks including “APEP.” You can preorder the album here.
