As 3OH!3 gears up for their return to Warped Tour this summer and fall—appearing on all three weekends of the revived festival—Nat Motte and Sean Foreman took a detour down memory lane during their recent idobi Warped Radio interview. And not just any memory: Silent Library.
The cult-favorite MTV series, a bizarre hybrid of Jackass and a study hall fever dream, famously challenged artists to perform absurd dares—all while staying silent in a “library” setting. For 3OH!3, the show was already on their radar thanks to its original Japanese incarnation.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, we had seen the Japanese version of it in the early days of it and thought it was so funny,” Nat recalls. “And then MTV launched it here in the States and reached out to us about it. And we were like, yeah, that’s amazing.”
The duo happened to be on tour when the opportunity came up. With only six spots available on the episode, Nat and Sean held on to two and raffled off the remaining slots to their crew. “They all wanted to be on too,” Nat adds.

But the real story—the one that lives in 3OH!3 lore—unfolded during one of the episode’s more infamous stunts: a plastic turkey filled with stuffing. “Part of Silent Library, which also to explain it, it’s like you’re in this library. It’s supposed to be super quiet, and you do these challenges that are just like JACKASS-type challenges,” Sean explains.
One of those challenges ended with their friend and fellow participant Benny Blanco taking a serious hit to the dome. “There was one where they blew up this plastic turkey, and it was filled with stuffing, and Benny was the one who pulled the card,” Sean continues. “It just explodes, but they didn’t really—I don’t think anyone really tested it or whatever. It blew up super big and became basically like a bomb. He got like stuffing up into his brain, basically.”
“It could have been a lot worse,” Sean adds. “If there would have been an extra element of a projectile, it probably would have gone through his dome. Like, he got concussed.”
Nat wrapped the story with the kind of surreal detail that only 3OH!3 can deliver: “He was, for a couple of weeks, sniffing out pieces of stuffing.”
With 3OH!3 back in full force for Warped Tour’s 2025 run, the chaos may be a little more organized—but clearly, it’s never far behind. Watch their full episode of idobi Warped Radio below.
