The thrilling When We Were Young Fest onstage cameos just keep getting better and better. On the October 21 festival date, Rise Against performed “Swing Life Away” from 2004’s Siren Song Of The Counter-Culture with some help from Yellowcard‘s William Ryan Key. Earlier in the day, Yellowcard performed their own set, and Ryan Key was joined by Pierce The Veil’s Vic Fuentes for “Three Minutes More” and Cassadee Pope for “Only One.” Like we said, there are great collabs happening like clockwork at the 2023 WWWY Fest. If you’re a fan of artists taking a big swing and connecting, or a fan of anything slightly experimental yet poppy and listenable, this one’s for you.
You’ll be familiar with my guest from the rock band Yellowcard this week, but William Ryan Key is so much more than just one thing. He’s about to release his third EP; he is a co-host of a successful Star Wars podcast and is even in the midst of a house renovation. I was able to chat with Ryan about his new EP, Everything Except Desire, out this Friday, February 11, what he’s learned from various degrees of success over the years, and so much more. I hope you enjoy this and will check out his new EP.
Virtue captures intense rushes of emotion from the singer-songwriter’s life to take us all on a new journey.
William Ryan Key is the gift that keeps on giving. Back in the day, you loved him as the frontman of Yellowcard that gave us the classic “Ocean Avenue”. Now he is serenading us with songs like “Great Unknown” and “Old Friends”. It is safe to say our love for him has not only continued, but grown. We know you’ll feel the same. Just hit play. Find him on social media: Twitter & Instagram.
Had a fire show for y’all while I was on Warped! I had Community Meeting call in, Blacktop Queen stopped by to play some songs for you guys (you’ll hear one in this episode), William Ryan Key stopped in to play a couple new songs and a classic and Peking Duk stopped in to talk all about everything!
Ryan Key is bringing Yellowcard back to the Vans Warped Tour one more time.
