Cult teen film about the weirdest, wildest summer camp in the 80s gets a prequel and for once it’s actually better than the original.

The LP is set to arrive on October 6. According to a social media post, the band says, “We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence. Re: This Is Why is almost a remix album. Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically,… Read more »
“Did you know there was an all female music festival back in the 90’s?” My mother asked me this question a few weeks ago as we were getting ready to go out to dinner. Standing side by side in my hall bathroom, making some last minute touches to our hair and outfits, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) blasted from the living room speakers. My mom has always been my go-to when it comes to women in music, exposing me to an endless slew of amazing female artists as I grew up. The conversation started as we praised Taylor Swift for the… Read more »

As per usual, The Maine has been more than generous to fans, offering amazing collabs, dropping an incredible ninth record, and sharing new acoustic renditions of their singles. After teasing a snippet of the track earlier this week, the group finally shared a stripped-down version of the dance-inducing, pop-laced banger “blame,” resulting in a haunting, heartfelt performance. Frontman John O’Callaghan’s vocals absolutely shine on this somber rendition, departing from the glitzy disco aesthetics and sounds of its original counterpart. Frankly, be prepared to sob. Listen to The Maine’s acoustic reinterpretation of “blame” below. In a recent Instagram clip, listeners can… Read more »
Arizona’s premier emo band The Maine are back with a brand-new music video for their track “thoughts i have while lying in bed.” The song comes from their 8123-released LP and self-titled ninth full album. The music video, directed by Nick Stafford, is simple, but positively stunning. The video featuring lead vocalist John O’Callaghan is shot in black and white on a bridge with a cityscape in the background. Seemingly, “thoughts i have while lying in bed” is a one-shot take, which is even more impressive. Check out the full music video below. The earnest indie tune is rich in… Read more »
