After an indefinite hiatus that led We Are The In Crowd to quietly disband (sort of), the members of the beloved pop-punk band regrouped under vocalist Tay Jardine’s project, SAINTE. In honor of Hopeless Records turning 30, Scene Queen has covered “The Best Thing (That Never Happened)” by We Are The In Crowd for the label’s Hopelessly Devoted To You compilation album. The song originally appeared on We Are The In Crowd‘s 2014 LP Weird Kids. We Are The In Crowd‘s drummer and world’s best (Doug the) pug dad Rob Chianelli offered an important health update after sharing his multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis in October 2023. Chianelli describes on Instagram, “I’ve been getting back on the kit practicing, getting ready for @whenwewereyoungfest that’s this October in Vegas. And if I’m being real, it’s been one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done physically. After the band’s success across Warped Tour, Hurley has furthered his guitar skills and artistry alongside bandmate Taylor Jardine under the stage name Sainte and has even played alongside Avril Lavigne and State Champs.
