Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington recorded vocals for “System,” a song written by Jonathan Davis and Richard Gibbs for the movie Queen Of The Damned. The song was originally sung by Davis for the main character Lestat. The Korn singer’s version is still in the movie, but was not included on the soundtrack, due to Davis’s contract with Epic Records. Marilyn Manson, Disturbed’s David Draiman, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Static-X’s Wayne Static, and Orgy’s Jay Gordon have been drafted to sing five tracks co-written by Korn’s Jonathan Davis and multi-instrumentalist Richard Gibbs for the upcoming “Queen of the Damned” soundtrack. The Warner Bros. album is due Feb. 19; the film, starring the late Aaliyah and based on the novel by Anne Rice, arrives three days later in U.S. theaters. “Queen of the Damned” also stars Stuart Townshend as the vampire Lestat, who becomes a rock star with the band Satan’s Night Out. Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis will not appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie Queen Of The Damned due to a stipulation in his contract with Epic Records, which prevents him from working for other labels. To solve the problem, Davis and Warner Bros., the label which is putting out the movie’s soundtrack, have assembled various stars of today’s alternative music scene to cover the five tunes, which Davis sings in the movie as the voice of the Lestat character. Korn’s Jonathan Davis has co-written the score for the film adaptation of Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned, due out February 22nd. Collaborating with Oingo Boingo keyboardist Richard Gibbs, Davis composed the score for a ninety-two-piece orchestra and penned five songs for the soundtrack. Among them is one particularly poignant track: a tune with lyrics by Rashad Haughton, brother of the late singer-actress Aaliyah, who portrays the film’s title character.
