Illness Forces Elton John to Cancel Again


London – Singer Elton John canceled a second British concert Sunday because of a throat infection. John, 57, had been due to perform on Sunday evening at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center in Glasgow – the fourth concert in a tour of Britain. Two nights earlier, he had canceled a concert in Nottingham. “I’ve been doing all that I can to try to get my voice back and I’ve seen a throat specialist again today and he’s advised that it would be foolish to go ahead with tonight’s show,” John said in a statement.

Washington – Music legend Elton John, opera diva Joan Sutherland and conductor John Williams – along with actors Warren Beatty, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee – were being honored Sunday with a star-studded tribute at The Kennedy Center. Washington – Music superstar Elton John will appear in a national TV advertising campaign for the Delphi MyFi satellite radio, the first portable, hand-held unit for listening to XM Satellite Radio, the nation’s leading provider of satellite radio with more than 2.5 million subscribers. Elton John Claims Anti-War Music Has Been Silenced


Elton John tells Interview magazine that the U.S. government is using “bullying tactics” to prevent anti-war music from being heard, and that performers are so scared that they are just letting it happen. “There’s an atmosphere of fear in America right now and that is deadly,” John explained, according to the New York Daily News, noting, “Everyone is too career-conscious.
