POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Teen pop singer Aaron Carter hit a mattress early Thursday on Florida’s Turnpike with his SUV, which then lit on fire, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. No one was seriously injured. Carter, 17, was driving his 2004 Cadillac Escalade north to Orlando at about 12:30 a.m. when a mattress came loose from the cargo bed of a delivery truck in front of him, said his spokesman, Brad Zeifma. Jane Carter, the 44-year-old mother of pop singers Aaron Carter and Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, was arrested and charged with battery in an alleged attack on her estranged husband’s girlfriend, Ginger Elrod. The alleged incident took place the evening of Tuesday, January 13th at Robert Carter’s Marathon, Florida home. Teen pop singer Aaron Carter has been enlisted as an “Honorary Santa Tracker” by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), the binational military organization formally established by the United States and Canada to monitor and defend North American airspace.
