Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis will not appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie Queen Of The Damned due to a stipulation in his contract with Epic Records, which prevents him from working for other labels. To solve the problem, Davis and Warner Bros., the label which is putting out the movie’s soundtrack, have assembled various stars of today’s alternative music scene to cover the five tunes, which Davis sings in the movie as the voice of the Lestat character. Static-X bassist Tony Campos sustained a broken collarbone in a motorcycle accident Monday near his Los Angeles home. The accident will sideline him for the first few dates of the band’s stint alongside monumental metallers Pantera and Slayer on the Extreme Steel Tour. Singer Wayne Static, drummer Ken Jay and new guitarist Tripp Eisen will hit the road Wednesday with their bassist providing only backing vocals, according to the group’s manager. Marilyn Manson, Disturbed’s David Draiman, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Static-X’s Wayne Static, and Orgy’s Jay Gordon have been drafted to sing five tracks co-written by Korn’s Jonathan Davis and multi-instrumentalist Richard Gibbs for the upcoming “Queen of the Damned” soundtrack.
