Last week, Kai Turmann, a lifelong friend of Bill Crook, announced via Instagram that Bill, who previously served as the bassist for Spiritbox and the pop-punk act Living With Lions, had suddenly passed away. Since that initial post, artists from the metal, pop-punk, and alternative music communities have flooded Bill’s final post on Instagram, where he detailed working with Underoath drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie on new music at the beginning of July. It is with deep sorrow that we report the sudden passing of Bill Crook, the former bassist of the Spiritbox and the pop-punk act Living With Lions. His death was announced approximately seven hours ago via musician Kai Turmann’s Instagram, in which Turmann shared a heartfelt message of disbelief with fans. Looks like we’ll be hearing from Jordan Fish sooner than expected in the metalcore scene. He’s linking up with powerhouse Spiritbox as they work on new music. This was revealed after guitarist Mike Stringer of the three-piece posted on his Instagram stories of a studio mixing-board with Fish sitting behind it. Coming off the inevitable high of their eagerly-awaited new collection, The Fear Of Fear, which saw its official release courtesy of Rise Records/Pale Chord on November 2, Spiritbox has extended their creative expression through a series of arrestingly cinematic music videos to coincide with the release. In honor of their latest release, The Fear Of Fear, Spiritbox began with the release of “Ultraviolet” on November 2, swiftly followed by “Angel Eyes” on November 3. Following their extensive tour with Shinedown and Papa Roach throughout October, Spiritbox is beginning the month of November with the release of their new EP The Fear of Fear and a video, too. The group just dropped “Ultraviolet,” a modern heavy rock hit, with a reflective–literally–new music video.
