With pens and words as weapons, armored in skeleton bodies and faces, with uniforms of ski masks and Banned jackets; they bleed black and red. The MCRmy and clique fight not against each other but against conformity
twenty one pilots fans have a lot to digest today! Not only has The Skeleton Clique received the next chapter in the band’s illustrious storytelling with the release of their seventh album, Clancy, but the duo has also shared a new music video for EVERY song across the album. That’s FOURTEEN music videos for the 13-track release since frontman Tyler Joseph previously shared that “one has two versions.” Last night, to celebrate the release of Clancy and the music videos, Joseph and drummer Josh Dun hosted a premiere livestream via YouTube. Keeping things cryptic, twenty one pilots are teasing their next single, “Next Semester,” off of their forthcoming full-length, Clancy. The duo posted on their Instagram two photos showcasing, presumably, vocalist Tyler Joseph’s legs and drummer Josh Dun’s arm resting on a cymbal, along with a “leaked” video snippet of a crowd while they perform the song. The preview of it gives an air of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” vibe with dulled-out imagery partnered with moshing. “I don’t wanna be here,” sings Joseph to the crowd as they scream it back for the perfect harmony. After weeks of speculation, twenty-one pilots have finally announced their new album, Clancy, and dropped the first single, “Overcompensate.” The LP is slated to be released on May 17 and marks the duo’s sixth studio album. The music video opens with a body of dark blue water, followed by an urgent-sounding synth that mimics an alarm, building tension before transitioning into a jazzy, drum-led section of the song accompanied by a distorted voice welcoming everyone back to Trench. Vocalist Tyler Joseph slowly chimes in with the lines, “I created this world/To feel some control/Destroy it if I want it/So I… Read more »
My name’s Blurryface, and I’m back. twenty one pilots are teasing their return with a new era and an extended, cryptic video posted to their Instagram. In signature TØP fashion, this new phase includes heavy band lore and even names the iconic figure of their second album while threading in other characters to create their own mythical world. “I AM CLANCY” reads the opening title sequence. A fresh sheet of typewriter paper continues on with a monologue from frontman Tyler Joseph aka Clancy. “I am trapped. Stuck in a cycle, I have never been able to break. I want to… Read more »
Dragon Ball is Back With A New Series and There is Nothing More Important Small secret about me… I am obsessed, obsessed, with Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and anything that involves those seven star balls, inappropriate jokes, and 14 minutes of screaming during fight sequences. This week, the original creator of Dragon Ball announced he would be overseeing a new series of the Dragon Ball manga, Dragon Ball Super, that will began where Dragon Ball Z left off (don’t have to watch GT for this, thank the heavens) with Buu. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this the… Read more »
Twenty One Pilots Debuted At Number One And My Heart Is Soaring Last week Twenty One Pilots released their second full-length album, Blurryface, which I have not stopped listening to, and they also became the second band from our scene this year to have a number one album (debuting as number one on Billboard). It’s hard to find two dudes more deserving of that honor than Tyler and Josh, who when they found out, took to the internet to completely dedicate their success to their fans and their skeletonclique. As someone who grew up in Ohio, I couldn’t be more… Read more »
