Metallica And San Francisco Symphony Celebrate 20th Anniversary Of S&M With Live Performance


November 23, 2019, marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the quintuple platinum Metallica–San Francisco Symphony album “S&M”. The idea for the symphonic and metallic collaboration came from Metallica’s late Cliff Burton. Burton passed away in 1986 but his idea lived on in his bandmates and came to fruition years later when they performed on April 21 and 22 of 1999 at Berkeley Community Theater. Metallica to be two-bassist band at Hall of Fame


DETROIT –  It seems that Metallica will be a two-bassist band at Saturday’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland. A day after former bassist Jason Newsted told Billboard.com that his replacement, Robert Trujillo would not take part in the performance part of the induction, a spokesman for the group’s Warner Bros. label clarified that “Jason and Robert will both be playing Metallica’s induction songs.” He did not indicate what the songs would be or if Newsted and Trujillo would be on stage together or separately. Downloading Metallica's Next Release Will Be Rather Tricky


After more than 20 years of seeking and destroying, Metallica are releasing an authorized book of their conquests titled “So What! The Metallibook by Metallica,” which should be in stores by August. The 272-page oversized book won’t be an authorized biography, it’ll be a comprehensive scrapbook featuring more than 1,000 photos, bandmembers’ drawings and roundtable discussions with Metallica. Metallica, Godsmack to Tour in 2004


Metallica and Godsmack are gearing up for a 2004 North American arena tour which could stretch as far as 80 dates, Billboard.com has learned. The trek will begin March 2 in Phoenix; other confirmed dates include March 8 in San Francisco and March 28 in Seattle. The first batch of ticket on-sales will begin Saturday (Dec. 20) via Ticketmaster.
