Best Ex is an indie-pop and punk rock musical project led by songwriter Mariel Loveland. After her previous project, Candy Hearts, Loveland created Best Ex in 2017 to give herself some creative space to explore new sounds. Best Ex’s music retains the catchy melodies and emotional storytelling of her previous work, exploring themes of love, relationships, and personal experiences.
