There’s one last party in the Sunshine State this year, and it’s going to be pretty emo. Emo Social, run by Dashboard Confessional drummer Chris Kamrada, announced a packed line-up to grace the Florida lands. The event goes down on December 16 at Wall Street Plaza in Orlando, FL, and boasts an emo legend act and trending pop-punk and alternative artists. Ohio natives, Hawthorne Heights, has returned with their heaviest song to date spanning across their 22-year history, aptly titled “The Storm.” The nearly three-minute ripper is the first preview to the band’s forthcoming, freshly announced EP, Lost Lights, via Pure Noise Records. The collection is set to drop on September 8 the day before the group’s Ohio Is For Lovers Festival performance. We all know that Ohio is for lovers, but Hawthorne Heights has set out to prove that it’s not just Ohio. After three editions of the festival hitting emo fans hard in 2022, Hawthorne Heights is bringing the “Is For Lovers Festival” to eight cities in 2023. This year’s event will visit Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, NV; Denver, CO; Manteo, NC; Council Bluffs, IA; Cincinnati, OH; Pelham, TN; and Mansfield, MA.
