Following the release of singles “Infamous,” “MAD,” and “HOSTAGE (they will not erase us),” TX2 is back with a new track, “Hollow Frame.” The new offering is beyond impactful, describing a struggle that many endure silently.
TX2’s Evan Thomas shares, “I’ve struggled with an eating disorder all my life, and not enough males talk about body dysmorphia. When I was in 7th grade, I had an apple a day diet and weighed 90 Ibs, it all started when I couldn’t fit in skinny jeans and look like the ’emo boys’ I saw on TV. Since then, I’ve been making progress, but still feel like I have that parasite in me.”
Thomas added on Instagram, “I don’t want anyone to think I’m glamorizing it. And especially for you emo kids out there, this song is a warning, and if you relate, you need to know that you’re not alone.”
Notably, TX2 just wrapped a tour supporting Beartooth. Lead vocalist Caleb Shomo shared of the artist, “It’s tough to be in the smaller band everyone hates on online, especially on a metal tour with older bands and older fans you’ve never played to. I will always feel for that after the way I was treated in the early attack days as a 15-year-old trying to express my joy, and it getting dumped on by the scene I adored. If you get this band off the jump or not isn’t my point, my point is you’re all gonna see in a few years why TX2 is still around and growing. You can’t fake passion, hard work, and talent. Especially to me while I’m watching your show at FOH in the broad daylight lol damn that shit was legit.”
You can catch TX2 on the road for yourself throughout the States, including a stop at the Long Beach Warped Tour. Then, the artist will make stops in the UK and Europe in September. Check out the run below and grab tickets here.
