A month after David Letterman said he had started a record company, Ellen DeGeneres has followed him with an announcement that she has created her own label.
On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, her syndicated talk show, DeGeneres on Wednesday introduced a song by Greyson Chance, a 12-year-old from Oklahoma (with an uncanny resemblance to Justin Bieber) who has been an Internet sensation recently for his version of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi.â€
When Chance finished his performance at the piano, DeGeneres said: “He inspired me to start a record label called eleveneleven. He is my first artist. We are making a record together. How about that?â€
DeGeneres is not a total stranger to the music business, of course; she has been a judge on American Idol this season.
