Christina Calls off Tour

The Dirrty girl’s summer tour is a wash.

Christina Aguilera has canceled all upcoming performances on the advice of her doctor, due to a set of stripped pipes sustained in the studio.

Medical types advised the “Beautiful” singer to rest and give her voice time to recover-and, apparently, words can keep her down.

“I am extremely disappointed to have to cancel this tour,” Aguilera said in a statement. “I was looking forward to being on the road again and spending time with my fans.”

The 29-date North American tour was set to kick off May 13 in Auburn, Washington with special guest, Chingy.

According to Aguilera’s Website, www.christinaaguilera.com, tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

It’s not Aguilera’s first tour to be plagued by bad luck.

Last summer, several dates on her Justified & Stripped tour with cohort, Justin Timberlake, were postponed after a lighting grid collapsed onto a stage in Atlantic City, doing about $1 million in damage and injuring three stagehands.

A few months later, she canceled a pair of concerts in the U.K., pleading acute bronchitis.

In fact, the Mouseketeer-turned-diva has had a whole host of throat problems over the years, often causing her to skip out on performances.

Aguilera had promised that her tour would be “raw, and different from anything I’ve done before.”

It turned out raw, all right-raw pipes for the singer and a raw deal for her fans.
