What We Think: The Maine’s “Bad Behavior”

Y’know that feeling when the hero shows up on screen in your favorite movie? The thrill never ends—and that’s kind of how we feel every time The Maine releases music. This time, we’re being treated to some “Bad Behavior” from their coming album Lovely, Little, Lonely, and it’s safe to say the idobi staff adores it like roses. Check out what we thought below, and join us in waiting for the album to release on April 7th!

What I love about The Maine is that they love music. You can hear it progress in every album they make. There are no sonic boundaries for these guys. With “Bad Behavior” they bring back their take on classic American rock but also seamlessly blend in flavors of 80s R&B/pop—and much like American Candy it’s delicious. (Sherin Nicole)

The Maine make music you didn’t know you were craving, but as soon as you hear it you just know that this is what you’ve been waiting for. I’ve listened to this song a couple (hundred) times already, and the more I listen the more I go back to replay it. Every chapter of The Maine is just as interesting as the last, and I can’t wait to see what Lovely, Little, Lonely has to hold. (Emillie Marvel)

The Maine can never be accused of being boring or stuck in a rut. None of their albums sound exactly the same but there’s something about each one that makes you think “yes, this is what The Maine should sound like at this particular moment in their lives.” (Sam Devotta)

Stoked The Maine continued in the general direction of American Candy with the single. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album! (Mike Fishkin)
