Cisco Adler & Medford Talk Rox & Roll On The Sunset Strip

Cisco Adler Medford

Cisco Adler recently visited the idobi Radio Studios to chat with Fish on Gone Fishkin about the recent reopening of his iconic venue, The Roxy, and the passions that drive him as both a businessman and a musician. He is joined by friend and collaborator Medford

The Roxy, a 50-year-old venue in a 100-year-old building, has recently been revamped—or should we say revAMPed—through the installation of a new sound system. Sound has been an incredibly important element of The Roxy throughout its existence.

Cisco explains, “We did a partnership with JBL and Harmon on the sound for the 50th anniversary. When the Roxy opened originally in 1973, it was not only the place to play for a myriad of reasons, but the sound was paramount, and I want to bring that back.”

Not only does Cisco want to bring the technical parts of music back, he wants to continue to make The Roxy an incubator for talent and for musicians to learn, connect, and grow. He also wants to use his knowledge and history in a performance space to create a new environment for artists to collaborate and create, including himself! Cisco discusses recent endeavors with musicians, including making music with pro surfer Landon McNamara, building a new platform for songwriters, and more.

He makes it clear that his work and purpose are fueled by his passion for music, people, and creation. “I like to create. It doesn’t matter if it’s a canvas or what that canvas is—I’m going to paint,” he shares emphatically. “If I can solve problems for the business and the ecosystem that raised me and gave me life, which is music, music gives me everything I have. Then I am going to try to solve problems for music.”

Throughout the conversation, Cisco emphasizes the importance of detail and dedication in every aspect of his work, whether it’s producing music, managing a venue, or supporting other artists. Check out his full interview with Fish below.
