Sweden’s premier emo band, Tribe Friday, is bringing their sophomore album, Hemma, to every alternative fan who needs to feel a little closer to places that shaped them. In fact, “hemma” in Swedish translates directly to “home.” Noah Deutschmann (vocals/guitar), Zack Liljeberg (drums), Isak Gunnarsson (guitar), and Robin Hanberger Pérez (bass) all confronted how this word has morphed with maturity. Following up their shimmering and sonically sweet debut, the quartet are tuning into their true-to-from emo roots, pulling back the bright instrumentals slightly, but not sacrificing their signature ethereal vocal styling. Self confessed HUGE Star Wars fans Wheatus don’t like the title of the next Star Wars movie “Attack of the Clones”. Like a B grade horror movie. It’s probably going to be a great story and great effects. All the Storm Troopers are clones underneath their helmets. The Emperor in The Phantom Menace used robots but they weren’t reliable, so he had to experiment with Clones. That’s where the Clone… Read more »

On January 22, Bowling For Soup shared a bittersweet message on social media platforms. Guitarist extraordinaire Chris Burney, 55, is permanently retiring from the band. The artist originally helped co-found the band in the ’90s. The punk-rock ensemble stated, “It is with a heavy heart we announce that Chris Burney has made the decision to retire from his stage-right post in the band he co-founded in 1994. Some recent medical developments, 30 years of rocking balls, and touring non-stop have made it difficult to continue.
