Who stole Outkast’s Scooby Snacks? That’s the premise of the video for “Land of a Million Drums,” the hip-hop duo’s contribution to, and the first single from, the upcoming “Scooby-Doo” soundtrack. Outkast filmed the clip last week in Los Angeles with director Bryan Barber (Lil’ Bow Wow, Jagged Edge) and actor Matthew Lillard, whose Shaggy is caught snatching up the tasty treats. But wait! MTV has rescheduled its Video Music Awards out of respect for the one-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The ceremony, which usually takes place the first Thursday in September, has been moved up a week to Aug. 29. “By bringing together artists, fans and the city’s creative community for MTV’s biggest night of the year, we hope to show our love and support for the place we truly call home every day,” the cable network’s president, Van Toffler, said in a statement Wednesday. Ozzy’s daughter and reality TV’s most famous 17-year-old bar-hopper is filming a clip for her cover of Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach” in Los Angeles this week. Kelly recorded a demo of the song last month with Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger and drummer Jose Pasillas. The clip, which views like a graphic channel-surfing journey between CNN and the Discovery Channel, depicts a boy in front of a television broadcasting rapid-fire images, including a mob tipping over a car, fires, car collisions, open-heart surgery, animals mating and crocodiles attacking prey. Alanis Morissette has added a second leg to her North American itinerary in support of Under Rug Swept for the first half of June while also scratching a half-dozen concerts that had been tentatively scheduled in the Southeast. New gigs are based in the Northeast, beginning May 30 in Philadelphia. They include radio festival appearances in Boston and New York on June 1 and 2, respectively. Eminem dresses up like Osama bin Laden and spoofs “The Sally Jesse Raphael Show” in the video for his new single, “Without Me.” Slim Shady shot the clip for the first single from The Eminem Show in Los Angeles last weekend with director Joseph Kahn (Britney Spears, DMX), according to his Interscope Records spokesperson.
