Green Day to star in punk documentary


Green Day, Bad Religion, and Blink 182 are among the bands that will appear in a forthcoming documentary about the punk rock music scene in the 1990s. Australian independent production company Robot Academy Films is producing the film, One Nine Nine Four, which is slated for a 2008 release. The two filmmakers have been residing in Los Angeles conducting interviews and collecting archival footage of the bands before heading back to Australia next month to complete the editing process, according to PunkNews.org. Blige to Perform at MTV Music Awards


Mary J. Blige is the latest addition to the performance lineup for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards. The Aug. 28 event at New York’s Radio City Music Hall will also feature 50 Cent, Good Charlotte, Coldplay and Christina Aguilera. The Chris Rock-hosted show will be broadcast live on the music cable channel. Offspring's Noodles Comments On RAC, Bassist Has Offspring


The Offspring has been playing a few scattered shows recently. The band visited Russia and played the Recording Artists Coalition concert in Long Beach, California last month. Guitarist Noodles (real name Kevin Wasserman) wrote on the band’s website, “The RAC Is a lobbying union for musicians who, up to this point, have been painfully unrepresented as a whole when it comes to legal issues that affect us. Green Day To Appear At X Games


Green Day will bring its pop-punk sounds to ESPN’s Winter X Games VI, taking place in Aspen, Colorado next month. The trio will perform January 19, day three of the renowned four-day extreme sports festival. Excerpts from the concert will appear on EXPN 2Day, ESPN’s monthly television series hosted by Tony Hawk and Sal Masekela. 'NSync Takes Home Three Blockbuster Entertainment Awards


‘NSync was the top musical act at the seventh annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards Tuesday (April 10) night at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium, winning Favorite CD (No Strings Attached), Favorite Single (“Bye, Bye, Bye”), and Favorite Pop Group. The major music categories were mostly split, however, with a poodle-haired Christina Aguilera snagging Favorite Female Artist, Eminem taking Favorite Male Artist, and Destiny’s Child walking off with Favorite Group of the Year.
