Limp Bizkit Will Still Tour Following Bassist Sam Rivers’ Passing


Limp Bizkit band members, fans, family members, and the music community at large are mourning the loss of Sam Rivers, who died on October 18. The founding bassist of the band passed away at just 48 years old. New reports reveal that a spokesperson for the St. Johns County, Florida Fire Rescue responded to a call about a “nonresponsive person in cardiac arrest,” per TMZ. Additionally. TMZ revealed that an official noted, “Deputies responded to an attended death at that address.” An official cause of death has not been confirmed. Limp Bizkit Bassist Sam Rivers Dies, Aged 48


Today, the rock world is mourning the loss of Sam Rivers, founding bassist of Limp Bizkit, who passed away at just 48 years old. Born on September 2, 1977, Rivers cofounded the band alongside drummer John Otto and lead vocalist Fred Durst in 1994. Rivers featured on all of Limp Bizkit’s six full-length albums, including their 1999 breakout album Significant Other and  2000’s Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water, which celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this week on October 16. After embarking on a wildly successful stadium tour this summer and concluding the run with a headline set at Shaky Knees Fest this weekend, My Chemical Romance has announced The Black Parade 2026 tour, celebrating 20 years of their milestone album. The band has hand-selected Franz Ferdinand, Pierce The Veil, Modest Mouse, Iggy Pop, Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, Babymetal, Jimmy Eat World, and The Mars Volta as openers across the tour.
