Judge Rejects Linkin Park Poster Trademark Case


London – A British judge has rejected a bid by American nu-metal band Linkin Park to trademark its name for use on posters, leaving shopkeepers free to sell unofficial posters of music and show business personalities. Sirius, Interscope Enter Marketing Pact


Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. said it agreed to an exclusive marketing and promotional alliance with Interscope Geffen A&M Records and its chairman, Jimmy Iovine. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. The New York subscription-based satellite-radio broadcaster said Monday that Iovine will be a creative adviser and consultant in the development of Sirius programming. Interscope will offer marketing and promotional opportunities with its artists, including U2, Eminem, No Doubt, Sheryl Crow, 50 Cent and Queens of the Stone Age. Good Charlotte, Kelly Clarkson, Hoobastank and Simple Plan will lend their support to the ever-growing tsunami-relief effort by performing live at the MTV Asia Aid benefit event in Thailand. Alicia Keys will also be featured the event, which is set to take place on February 3 at the IMPACT Arena in Thailand’s capital of Bangkok and benefits UNICEF and other Thailand- and India-based organizations. Linkin Park Donates $100,000 to Tsunami Relief


New York – With memories of a successful summer tour in Southeast Asia still fresh in their minds, the members of Linkin Park are spearheading an effort to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami that have devastated the region.
