Osbournes to Judge MTV Contest


Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are launching a new MTV reality series/contest in which a band will win a slot on the Ozzfest 2005 tour. “Battle for Ozzfest,” which premieres Oct. 25 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, will feature eight bands competing for the Ozzfest prize in addition to touring money, equipment and a possible record deal. The Osbournes will serve as judges and decide which bands are eliminated from the competition. Ozzfest, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year, grossed more than $19 million from 24 shows reported to Billboard Boxscore.

Kelly Osbourne Enters Drug Rehab


Kelly Osbourne, the 19-year-old daughter of heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne, has checked into a drug rehabilitation center for an addiction to painkillers, her parents said. Ozzy, 55, and Sharon Osbourne, 51, talked about their daughter’s drug problem Friday night on CNN’s “Larry King Live.” Sharon Osbourne said that an English tabloid notified them Friday that they had a photograph of Kelly in an apparent drug deal. Ozzy Osbourne confirmed in a radio interview on Wednesday (March 31) that negotiations are underway for Black Sabbath to perform on this summer’s Ozzfest, according to Blabbermouth.net. Asked if the rumors about a Sabbath reunion had any basis in truth, Ozzy replied, “I believe so.” Ozzy would not confirm anything else, including the rumor that Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler had rejoined his solo band, because he apparently did not want to get “yelled at” by wife and manager Sharon Osbourne. Osbourne Resting After Emergency Surgery


Ozzy Osbourne fractured several bones including a neck vertebra in an all-terrain vehicle accident but the injuries are “not a major problem,” a doctor said Tuesday. Ozzy Reschedules European Tour; Sharon Hosts M.A.P. Awards


Ozzy Osbourne has rescheduled his European tour. The trek will now take place in January and February of 2004. The dates were originally planned for this fall, but had to be scrapped when it was revealed that Osbourne was undergoing treatment for a worsening tremor. A specialist at Tufts University in Boston has put Osbourne on medication which causes dry mouth, thus affecting his ability to sing. Call it “Diary of Another Madman.” Ozzy Osbourne, who titled his second solo album Diary of a Madman, is writing a Broadway musical based on the nutty Russian monk Rasputin. The Prince of Darkness already has material written for the project and plans to record it at a studio he is building in the famed Osbournes house, he said last week. Kelly Osbourne Signs with Sanctuary


Kelly Osbourne has signed a multi-album recording contract with Sanctuary Records Group. The label will on Sept. 30 re-release her 2002 Epic debut “Shut Up” under the name “Changes,” featuring a duet with her father, Ozzy Osbourne, on the title track. The repackaged album will also contain four bonus live cuts. The title track is a reworking of the Black Sabbath song of the same name, which appeared on the group’s 1972 album, “Black Sabbath, Vol. 4” (Warner Bros.). “Changes” will be released as single, and will contain new lyrics written by Ozzy and Kelly, according to Sanctuary. Kelly Osbourne Eats Fish With Elton John, Vomits


Eating in France with Elton John made Kelly Osbourne violently sick to her stomach – but it wasn’t Elton’s fault.
