Boston Manor Drops English Countryside-Inspired “Heat Me Up” Music Video

After releasing their new single, “Heat Me Up” in late May, Boston Manor has released an official music video. The track follows up previous releases “Container” and “Sliding Doors,” which are all set to appear on their forthcoming record Sundiver. “‘Heat Me Up’ ended up being the first track we finished on the album. 11 Up-And-Coming Artists That Every AFI Fan Should Be Listening To

Despite all the territory they’ve covered in their near-thirty tenure, AFI retains an impressively conspicuous identity. It’s the Tim Burton condition in which, despite rejecting the confines of any categorical genre with each new release, they have an innate flair that renders them instantly recognizable. But that’s not to say that they exist outside the realm of reasonable comparison. We scoured the alternative underground to prove that point. And while we can’t promise the recreation of that first magical moment you first heard Sing The Sorrow, we did pluck a handful of new music recommendations from the AFI ethos.  Representing… Read more »

Future Teens Enter “Mourning Time” On New Single

Future Teens are embarking on a journey today, not just with Aaron West And The Roaring Twenties on their UK tour, but also with a new track. The band poured their sorrow into the folk-indie single, “Mourning Time” via Take This To Heart Records. Over acoustic strums, vocalist Daniel Radin soulfully processes his woes. “‘Mourning Time is a grief song. It takes place during the anger stage of grief,” he says. “When I write a song it is to process something. Whether that’s a feeling, an emotion, a thought or an experience. Sometimes I don’t even know exactly what I’m experiencing… Read more »

10 Times Rock Ruled At The Eurovision Song Contest

It’s the most wonderful time of year once more. Eurovision is back, and it continues to get bigger and more prominent worldwide. Though it is known as the institution that turned ABBA into superstars and showcases the wildest and weirdest creations that Europe has to offer, there is still room for some rock ‘n’ roll in the ranks.  Over the years, pop has been the predominant genre in which countries project their entries. Though guitars have been making their way slowly but surely, they sometimes take the whole competition by storm. From masked monsters and nu-metal stalwarts to glam-rock superstars,… Read more »

11 Empowering, Alternative Songs To Soundtrack National Ex-Spouse Day

It seems indicative of U.S. divorce trends that we could reasonably add National Ex-Spouse Day to the calendar between the bookends of April Fool’s Day and 4/20. Lo and behold, April 14 stands as the designated date for reflection on the heels of romantic dissolution. Officially, it’s a day to assuage anger and practice forgiveness—but let’s be real here: that’s about as engaging as a rainy day lecture on the history of watching paint dry. In the interest of feeding our delusion of music being a cure-all, we’ve opted for a decidedly more “teenage angst” approach in celebrating the sanctioned… Read more »
