This week I have drummer Frank Zummo on my show, he has played for so many bands over the years, and I’ve known him since 2003 in the drumming community, I’ve even been in a project before with his now wife! I met Jonny through my friends in The Dangerous Summer, he’s a talented singer/songwriter that came from the UK and now lives in Nashville, I’m really into his music and we’ve co-written songs together that may see the light of day, but for now, I think everyone should check him out and hear his story. I met Luke last year right before the pandemic hit and we were all starting to hang out a lot, we even had Josh Katz from Badflower, Luke and me jam at a blues night in a random bar in Los Angeles. I get to know Luke a little more and find out how he got his start in music.

Mike Herrera is the singer and songwriter for band MxPx, they’ve been one of my all time favorite punk bands since I was a teenager, I attended most of their shows in Salt Lake City in the late 90’s and throughout the early 2000’s and eventually toured with Mike and made a friendship with him, I’ve known him close to 20 years and we catch up and learn about Mike’s journey as a musician.
This week I have long time friend Sean Porter, otherwise know as Big Daddy, we talk about how he got started in the music business as well as how he’s managed to open up Nashville’s most successful hotdog chain “Daddy’s Dogs” I loved touring with Sean and all the times we’ve had together on the road and that what makes him a great guest, take a listen!
This week I have Efrem who sings for the band Death By Stereo and more recently Voodoo Glow Skulls, he was one of the first real friends I made when I moved to California and I knew no one out there. I got to do Warped Tour with him in 2002, and we’ve been friends and have kept in touch ever since. Hear how Efrem got his start in music as well as us catching up!
I have Matty Arsenault from the band A Loss For Words, I’ve known him for over 13 years, we’ve done countless shows together on different festivals and we’ve gotten to know each other over the years, he’s gone on to be a very successful band manager helping get bands like PVRIS, Set It Off, and The Dangerous Summer guide their careers, as well as starting a service for bands to get their haircuts at festivals, tune in to hear all about his exciting career!
I’ve been touring off and on alongside Luke in different bands, I wanted to get his story on how he got to where he was, I met him 10 years ago at his first show with the band The Word Alive, and we’ve been friends ever since! This is his story!
I found out about this band on Spotify and through mutual friends, Cameron and I became friends from being a fan of each other’s band, now we hang out a ton, and this episode was recorded at the beginning of the year. Enjoy!
