This week I’m with artist and composer Marvin MchMahon from band River Becomes Ocean, I originally met him on a tour I was on in 2018, and we got to hang out every single day. It was one of the best tours I’ve ever done with him and we get to talk about how he got to be where he is now today and how he got started with music.
I have artist and rapper B Lay. He and I toured together a ton from 2014-2016 and I get him to talk bout his musical background and how he’s starting to release music and perform regularly, he’s from Los Angeles and we get to catch up and I learn all things B Lay this week.
This week I have singer/designer/tattoo artist- Davey Suicide. I’ve known him for over a decade and we talk about how Davey got his start in music amongst his other passions, he’s designed clothes for me before, we haven’t caught up in a while and I figured this would be a great time to learn about Davey’s life, he has new music coming out shortly and I wanted to bring him on to talk about all things Davey Suicide.
This week I have long time friend Josh Katz- frontman of Badflower. So far he is my only repeating guest on this show, I caught him when he was in LA and we share some stories and catch up, we already learned about Josh’s life before on previous episodes, but anytime we get together, we always have a blast, here’s the conversation.
This week I have long time drumming friend Anthony Ghazel, he’s playing in dozens of bands but more notable for Being As An Ocean and Hundreth, Anthony also found a role working for the most successful water company on social media to date: “Liquid Death.” We talk about everything about how he got into his career and how he began his musical journey.
This week I have Dallas Texas promoter Mike Ziemer. He’s done a lot of shows for most of the projects I’ve been apart of, and his festival is the reason I met my singer Dallon. We talk about how he got his start with everything to how he’s now in charge and creator of So What Music Festival. We’ve been friends for a number of years and we finally get to learn everything about what it’s like to be him.
This week I have Kevin Jordan of the band This Wild Life on the show, we met ages ago from us both being previously involved with Epitaph Records, I have him on the show and he talks to me about how he got his music career started. He’s a great guy and their band went viral and we hear his story.
This week I have drummer Dan Whitesides of the band The Used, we came up together in the Salt Lake City music scene together, he is someone I really looked up to when I was growing up, he was in multiple bands around the city and I hoped one day I’d get to match his abilities as a drummer. We catch up and talk about what it was like for Dan and how he got his start in music all the way to today.
This week I have Canadian alt rock duo The Blue Stones. I got introduced to them in Salt Lake City where we both crossed paths thru mutual friends, I asked them to come by the studio once they came to L.A. and I got to learn all about them, I checked out their music and was thrilled with what I heard, I didn’t really know these guys until now but I’m glad I do, and you’ll be glad too.
This week I have song writer and front man Brendan Scholz, I came across their music accidentally on Spotify, I looked more into the band and realized I’ve known Brendan all along, he’s from Las Vegas and I think he’s one of the most underrated musicians in the punk rock world, I love what he does and I wanted to have him on my show to talk about his life. I think they’re a great band and you should check them out. Here’s his story.
