Chris Brown scheduled for arraignment today


Two months after an alleged altercation with girlfriend Rihanna that resulted in his arrest, singer Chris Brown, 19, is due in court Monday to be arraigned on felony charges of assault and making criminal threats. Brown, who has kept a relatively low profile since his February 8 arrest, is also expected to enter a plea at today’s arraignment, which is a formal reading of the criminal complaint against the singer. DA: Chris Brown expected in court Thursday


LOS ANGELES — Prosecutors say Chris Brown is expected in court Thursday though charges have not yet been filed. “The 19-year-old R&B singer was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats after police say a woman identified him as her attacker. A person familiar with the incident but not authorized to speak publicly identified the woman as Brown’s girlfriend, Rihanna,”  District Attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison said. Police presented their case weeks ago, but prosecutors asked for more information. Brown remains free on $50,000 bail. A call placed to his attorney, Mark Geragos was not returned Wednesday afternoon.

Chris Brown says he's 'sorry and saddened'


Chris Brown who was arrested a week ago in connection with a domestic violence investigation, said Sunday he is “sorry and saddened” by what happened and is seeking counseling from his pastor and loved ones. The 19-year-old R&B singer also said much of what has been reported of the incident is untrue, although he did not elaborate. “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. iTunes: Coldplay, Leona Lewis topped sales in 2008


NEW YORK – Coldplay was the hottest iTunes album download this year: Its “Viva la Vida” was crowned the best-selling album of 2008, while Leona Lewis’s “Bleeding Love” was named the top-selling single. Coldplay’s CD has sold more than 2 million copies since its release in June, and has sold more than 500,000 copies digitally – most of which was through iTunes, according to the band’s representative. The Gym Class Heroes have experimented so much on their latest CD that even frontman Travis McCoy can’t quite describe the group’s newly formed sound. “It’s like our last two efforts combined in a sense, but pushed further. Kanye West ends VMA boycott
