Former Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello will introduce a special presentation about sweatshops and globalization at the University Of Southern California (USC) on Wednesday (February 20). The event starts at 5:30 p.m. PT at the Leavey Library Auditorium on the USC campus in Los Angeles. Morello will speak before a lecture called “Starving For Swoosh” by Leslie Kretzu and Jim Keady of Educating For Justice. Papa Roach will release the follow-up to their triple-platinum debut, Infest, on June 25th. The album, lovehatetragedy was produced by Brendan O’Brien, who’s worked with Pearl Jam and Rage Against the Machine. Next month, the band will head to Atlanta, where singer Coby Dick – who is now going by his birth name, Jacoby Shaddix – will finish recording his vocals. The track listing is still tentative, but the album is expected to be finished by March. Maybe they should call themselves Rage Against the Soundgarden. The three remaining members of Rage Against the Machine have created a new band with former Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell, the group’s publicist confirmed on Tuesday. Cornell will join guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk, formerly of the rock-rap fusion band. “They’ve written 20 songs together, the four of them, and Rick Rubin will be producing the recording,” said Lisa Markowitz of Epic Records.
