Cowboy Junkies 'Open' Up For Tour, DVD


Canadian rock outfit Cowboy Junkies has lined up a 26-date spring tour and finalized details for its first DVD, a companion to last year’s Zoe Records release “Open.” The tour kicks off May 9 in Detroit and wraps Aug. 7 in Peterborough, Ontario. A couple of low-key dates at California wineries are sprinkled throughout, as well as a number of festival appearances. After lending her rich voice to all four Chemical Brothers studio albums, Beth Orton is finally getting her favors returned. Daybreaker, the techno-folkie’s third full-length album, due July 30, features beats from Brothers Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons on the title track. Other guests on the record include alt-country alchemist Ryan Adams harmonizing on “Concrete Sky” and composing on “OK,” veteran Emmylou Harris contributing vocals to the ballad “God Song,” and ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr playing on several tracks. “Paris Train,” “Ted’s Waltz,” “Mt. The Eagles Planning Summer U.S. Tour


It appears that the Eagles are planning a multi-date summer tour of the U.S. this year. The band, which played Europe last year but hasn’t mounted a proper North American outing in a couple of years, is putting together about 30 dates, and it should all kick off May 31 in Reno, Nevada, according to Billboard. Incubus Takes Its 'Morning View' To Arenas


Incubus kicks off its largest tour to date at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon on Thursday (April 11). The tour, in support of its current album, Morning View, will visit arenas in 49 cities in North America through early July, with open dates on the calendar expected to be filled with yet more shows. Hoobastank Ends Tour With 311, Starts Trek With Incubus


Hoobastank is finishing up dates with 311 on Wednesday (April 10) in Kansas City. The band is scheduled join Incubus on the Honda Civic tour on Thursday (April 11) in Portland, Oregon. Sum 41’s new DVD, Introduction To Destruction (Video Treats To Move Yo Feets), proved a winner on the latest SoundScan Top DVD Music Videos chart as the best debut of the week. X-ecutioners Stage Tour


DJ crew the X-Ecutioners will kick off their twenty-eight-city “Adrenaline Rush” tour tonight in Austin, Texas. The tour dates are in support of the group’s recently released Built From Scratch. The X-ecutioners will add two MC’s to their road show: Gudtyme and DSTROY, formerly of New York outfit the Arsonists. New O-Town Album To Include Track From Nelly


O-Town fans hoping for a change of sonic scenery will have to wait only three more months for new material from the pop group. The successor to O-Town’s self-titled debut is due July 9, according to a J Records spokesperson. While the album has yet to be titled, “I Showed Her” has been chosen as its first single and is expected to surface at radio in mid-May. “Favorite Girl,” another track off the album, was written and produced by rapper Nelly, and the group itself takes credit for penning three others. Former Replacements frontman Paul Westerberg will play his first shows in five years at a series of in-store performances beginning later this month.
