Blink 182, the Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, and New Found Glory are among 20 artists set to appear on the Santa Clause ’03, a Christmas-themed benefit album scheduled for release on November 11, according to Billboard.com. Blink 182 will perform “I Won’t Be Home For Christmas,” while New Found Glory’s contribution will be called “Ex-Miss.” The Bosstones’ track, “This Time Of Year,” was previously available only as a giveaway to people who attended the band’s hometown Christmas shows in Boston. The USO will send rock band New Found Glory to meet with service members at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii Aug. 14. Avril Lavigne probably never went to band camp, but that didn’t disqualify her from the soundtrack for “American Wedding,” the third slice of celluloid from the “American Pie” series. The previously unreleased Avril song “I Don’t Give” will be featured on the disc, which comes out July 22. The track was recorded during the session for Let Go, and is about an independent girl who refuses to be played. “You know I’m not gonna cry/ About some stupid guy/ A guy who thinks he’s all that,” she sings in the chorus. Before hitting the stage on Sunday, May 11, for their co-headlining concert as part of the 2003 Civic Tour, Florida natives New Found Glory awarded Sean Tyrka of Tampa, FL one of their customized and autographed Honda Civic Si’s that the band personally designed. When Good Charlotte last played here in October 2002, their “Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous” was about how the other half lives and they barely filled the 1,500-capacity Rave in Milwaukee.
