Britpop veterans Oasis release their first single in nearly two years on Monday as they strive to recapture their 1990s glory years. “Hindu Times,” a typical slice of Oasis guitar-driven rock, goes on sale across Britain a month after a leaked copy found its way onto the internet. The band’s brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have won mixed reviews for the single, their first since “Sunday Morning Call” in July 2000. “It is a welcome return to their heyday noize (sic)… resurrected as the sound of 100 bulldozers driving into a mountain of gemstones,” the New Musical Express said in… Read more »
Blink 182 has finally unveiled the video for the song “First Date,” which was shot in Vancouver last August. In typical Blink fashion, the group does its best to infuse comedy into the clip. “We shot it in Canada over the summer and I think it’s our best video by far,” explained Mark Hoppus. “I think it’s the funniest video…it’s just a video with a lot of character. We’re ’70s stoners just cruising the streets of Southern California…We’re ’70s stoners propelled into the future.” “First Date” was directed by Emmit and Brendan Malloy. LØLØ dives into her writing process—both for herself and with other artists—and how stepping into someone else’s creative brain can break writer’s block wide open. She talks about the song she just had to keep for herself (“u & the tin man”), her love for Taylor Swift, and the dream collaborations she’s still manifesting (Green Day, YUNGBLUD, and more).
From sneaking Easter eggs into her music and videos to building a Wizard Of Oz universe on her album and on stage—complete with a yellow brick road—LØLØ reveals how her favorite movies fuel her creativity (yes, she’s that girl who still checks the mailbox for a Hogwarts letter. Can you blame her?!)
The conversation covers everything from her Halloween stage outfits to shouting out icons like Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff, Maggie Lindemann, and the legacy of Warped Tour acts like Simple Plan and New Found Glory—plus a moment of gratitude for being discovered by NFG’s Chad Gilbert.
LØLØ also gets candid about not being allowed to go to concerts as a kid (“Hi, Mom!”) and how surreal it is to now be part of the very scene she grew up idolizing. And yes—she’s ready to play “Hot Girls In Hell” on Warped Tour… even if she wrote a song called “Poser” just in case.
This week I have drummer Cyrus Bolooki of band New Found Glory, we talk about how we met, how we got to tour together over a span of 20 years together on the Warped Tour, and how Cyrus got his start as a drummer all the way to today. I used to go to their shows growing up and it’s super inspiring to see them still going strong as ever, tune in!
This week on the Rockstar Dad show, the guys talk to longtime friend Ian Grushka from the band, New Found Glory.
Celebrate Valentines’ Day with a cover as sweet as candy conversation hearts. This week, New Found Glory cover “Kiss Me”, originally by Sixpence None the Richer.
New Found Glory brought their ongoing quest to prove pop punk’s not dead to the UK earlier this month — and with support from The Story So Far, Candy Hearts, State Champs, and Only Rivals, they certainly made their message heard loud and clear.
The first video from the Glamour Kills Tour has been released! Check it out below to catch an acoustic version of “Ready and Willing” by New Found Glory.
Tonight at 9PM ET, Gunz chats with New Found Glory, and PVRIS is live in the studio. Only on idobi Radio!
Benji and Joel Madden. Â Such a long journey they’ve had since the early Good Charlotte days. I’m proud to have been able to see them play and tour with such bands like FENIX TX and “A” New Found Glory back in the day.
