Oasis to Tour North America in June with Jet


Los Angeles – British rock group Oasis has confirmed its first U.S. shows in three years, which will come in support of its as-yet-untitled new studio album. The band will play Toronto (June 17), Detroit (June 18), Chicago (June 20), New York (June 22) and Philadelphia (June 25), with support from Australian rock outfit Jet. Tickets for all shows go on sale Feb. 12 via Ticketmaster. Rampant Copyright Infringement Leads to Record $1Billion June


US box office takings passed the $1bn ( £545m) mark for the first time in June, led by the success of the third Harry Potter film, a survey indicated. The North American box office took $1.03bn ( £562m) during June, Hollywood Reporter found – a 14% increase on June 2003’s previous monthly record. New Brian Wilson Studio Album in June


Brian Wilson’s first new studio album in six years, “Gettin’ in Over My Head,” will be released by Warner Music Group’s Rhino Records on June 22. The 61-year-old former Beach Boy recently resurrected and finished his legendary “Smile” sessions, which he debuted live in the United Kingdom. Wilson is expected to tour Europe in the summer in support of “Gettin’ in Over My Head” and possibly bring the “Smile” concert to the United States in the fall. Korn's 'Untouchables' Delayed Until June 11, 'Here To Stay' Due This Month


Korn has once again delayed the release of its forthcoming album, Untouchables. It will now be in stores June 11, rather than May 14. The band will still release the first single from the album, “Here To Stay,” later this month, and a companion video was recently shot in Los Angeles. 'Janet Jackson: In Concert From Hawaii' DVD Due In June


Janet Jackson’s current tour will wrap with an HBO concert special, titled Janet Jackson: In Concert From Hawaii, on February 17 at 9 p.m. ET. The special will feature her performance at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. Although the concert is still more than a week away, it has already been set for release in both VHS and DVD formats in June. After explaining “What a Girl Wants” and issuing the invitation to “Come on Over” in 1999, Christina Aguilera is acting like a “Genie in a Bottle” by granting her fans’ wishes for new material. Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Staind, Linkin Park Among RIAA'S June Gold & Platinum Certifications


While living legends Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton earned their 21st gold certifications this month, younger acts, including Staind, Linkin Park, and Nelly Furtado, picked up their first platinum and multi-platinum albums, according to the RIAA’s June certifications list. McCartney’s latest gold (for 500,000 copies sold) record, as well as platinum (for 1 million sold) and double platinum, is for his Wings retrospective, Wingspan: Hits and History.
