Depeche Mode has revealed that singer Dave Gahan successfully underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his bladder and the band’s Tour of the Universe will resume on June 8th. Gahan was rushed to the hospital before a concert in Athens, Greece on May 12th, after suffering a severe bout of gastroenteritis. While the frontman was in the hospital, further tests revealed what is described as a “low-grade malignant tumor,” according to a new statement on the band’s Web site. Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is hitting the road in June, lining up solo shows in six southern and eastern cities as well as three concerts in Hawaii. The 14-date trek starts June 8th in Albany, New York, and hits theaters in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Nashville, Memphis and Atlanta before wrapping up with shows in Maui and Honolulu from June 29th through July 2nd.
