Have you ever felt like the bad guy in a breakup? Not My Weekend expresses the complex emotions that come with that situation in their new single, “OtherSide.(Break.Up.Song).” The guitar-driven track blends the nostalgia of your Myspace era with today’s pop-punk sound. From a Hellogoodbye-esque autotune effect in the bridge to a clean, plucky verse riff, “OtherSide.(Break.Up.Song)” finds the balance between nostalgia and new. L.S. Dunes is a gift to alternative music, full of endless sonic surprises. Today, the quintet released their new single, “Old Wounds.” With haunting stillness, the band departs from the intensity of their 2022 LP Past Lives, taking a slower approach to the release without sacrificing any raw instrumentals. Though, this is in staunch contrast to Dunes’ preceding 2023 single, “Benadryl Subreddit,” which begins with a screaming Anthony Green, and chock-full of “desert energy.” Talk about range.
