Green Day To Donate Concert Proceeds To Bay Area Hospital


Green Day will donate proceeds from its hometown concert in Oakland, California on April 29 to a local hospital that has played a role in the lives of all three of the band’s members. The Oakland Arena performance will benefit Children’s Hospital Oakland, the oldest and largest pediatric medical facility in Northern California, according to a band spokesperson. “Children’s hospital is a place all three of us have been in and out of as kids, and we are sure our kids will too,” Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong says. “It makes sense for our families and others in the East… Read more »

An album of Green Day rarities is on tap for this summer, according to the band’s website. Calls placed by LAUNCH to the group’s publicist for confirmation were not returned at press time. The band is currently culling through its collection of rare and previously unreleased tracks. Vedder Rambles, Green Day Scramble As Ramones Enter Hall


A mohawked Eddie Vedder put the regal Waldorf-Astoria hotel in a punk rock state of mind Monday night when he inducted the Ramones into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Blink-182, Green Day To Launch Co-Headlining Catastrophe In April


Bastions of ’90s punk Green Day and Blink-182 will embark on a co-headlining jaunt, beginning April 17 in Bakersfield, California. The 41-city Pop Disaster Tour will continue through June 17 in Minneapolis, according to a tour publicist. Venues have yet to be hammered out. New Green Day, Eve 6, Mystikal On 'New Guy' Soundtrack


New material from Mystikal, Juvenile, Green Day, Eve 6 and others will surface next month on the soundtrack to the comedy “The New Guy.” Mystikal wrote the title song for the movie, which stars DJ Qualls (“Road Trip”) and Eddie Griffin (“Double Take”) and features cameos from several artists, including Tommy Lee, Jermaine Dupri, Henry Rollins and Kool Moe Dee. OPM and Rehab also wrote songs especially for “The New Guy,” according to an Epic Records spokesperson. Green Day have a filmed a guest spot for the Chris Isaak show and get to destroy his room. According to Isaak “Billie and I have a nice moment where we get to play music in the living room. Billie’s jamming with me while the other guys were wrecking my bedroom.” The second season of the sitcom “The Chris Isaak Show” started back on American television this week, but season one had it’s Australian premiere on Foxtel’s Comedy Channel on Monday. Green Day will bring its pop-punk sounds to ESPN’s Winter X Games VI, taking place in Aspen, Colorado next month. The trio will perform January 19, day three of the renowned four-day extreme sports festival. Excerpts from the concert will appear on EXPN 2Day, ESPN’s monthly television series hosted by Tony Hawk and Sal Masekela. Meanwhile, Green Day’s new DVD/VHS video collection International Supervideos! is now in stores. Green Day, Shelby Do Isaak Show


While the 2001 season of Showtime’s Chris Isaak Show featured cameos by Stevie Nicks, Bret Michaels and Shawn Colvin, next year’s will see Green Day, Everclear’s Art Alexakis, Third Eye Blind’s Stephan Jenkins and Shelby Lynne trot on. Green Day filmed their episode, “The Wrong Number,” in Vancouver, British Columbia, several weeks ago.
