Girl In Alleged R. Kelly Tape Said To Be 14-Year-Old Niece Of Singer Sparkle

Since the alleged R. Kelly sex tapes first hit the media two months ago, the primary question has been if the girl featured on the 27-minute tape, currently under investigation by the Chicago police, was actually underage, since her identity had been kept hidden. While her immediate family – as well as the girl herself – have yet to step forward, a former protégé of R. Kelly has told a Los Angeles radio station that the girl on the tape is her niece, whom she says was 14 at the time the tape was made. Sparkle, who had a hit… Read more »

Incubus Bring Sensitive Hunk Rock To Seattle's Screaming, Trembling Girls – Review

A near-capacity crowd at Key Arena greeted headliners Incubus Friday night with open arms and open eyes – and deafening, wall-vibrating screams. Thousands of hollering fans – many encased in freshly purchased T-shirts from the merch tables – couldn’t be wrong: After more than a decade in the business, and years of touring far smaller venues with middling success, the band from sleepy Calabasas, California, has most definitely arrived. But before they took to the stage, their So-Cal neighbors, Hoobastank, warmed up the Key with a thunderous half-hour set. The foursome had no problem filling up the arena with their… Read more »

The Ramones Ushered Into Rock Hall

They represented the anti-establishment, so it was a bit odd to see the Ramones so happy to become part of the music establishment as members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But for the remaining members of the punk rock originators – whose lead singer, Joey Ramone, died last year – Monday night’s induction at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel represented long-overdue respect for the band that helped revolutionize rock with their rapid-fire, guitar-heavy songs. “I’d like to congratulate myself, and thank myself, and give myself a big pat on the back,” joked Dee Dee Ramone. “Thank you Dee Dee,… Read more »

Obue, 38, took a taxi 230 miles from her home in Edinburgh, Scotland to the luxury apartment building where the Beckhams live. Posh Hints It's All Over for the Spice Girls

Victoria Beckham, aka “Posh Spice,” gave a broad hint Monday that the Spice Girl phenomenon could finally be at an end. As she embarked on her latest solo outing, “Posh” admitted that the world may have finally lost interest in the Queens of British pop music. “A lot of people are saying ‘Have you split up? Haven’t you split up?’,” she said in an interview with Sky TV. “If we came out and said to everybody we’ve split up, everybody would say ‘we knew that anyway and what do we care’ so we can’t win whatever we say. “What we’re… Read more »

Music group Aqua, the cornerstone of Denmark’s pop industry and a major export earner, is to disband, Danish media has reported. “We are taking a break until further notice,” the London-based band said. “Our group has lost its sparkle.” Local media interpreted the announcement on Wednesday as signaling the break-up of one Denmark’s greatest successes ever on the international pop music scene. In 1997, the band soared up charts with its kitschy “Barbie Girl” hit, sparking an unsuccessful legal action against its U.S. record company MCA Records by the doll’s maker Mattel.
