Emo Social Club is Brian Rowe and Lizzie Baumgartner. The club began in 2018 after a mutual interest in all things emo and pop-punk emerged between the hosts. A key element that solidified Emo Social Club was their desire to create and support a sense of community. From there, Rowe and Baumgartner launched the outlet through live streaming, artist interviews, and a deep passion for the music scene. Over the last seven years, they have interviewed acts such as The Used, Silverstein, Winona Fighter, and Jimmy Eat World, along with newcomers to the scene. From streaming DJ sets during the… Read more »

So, the internet has been obsessed with reliving 2016, and we get it. First off, frozen yogurt shops were the hottest place to be on a Friday night, and chokers ripped skinny jeans were pure fashion. And we definitely can’t forget about the iconic alternative songs that defined the year. (Special shoutout to Death Of A Bachelor by Panic! At The Disco.) However, we think that this energy needs to be directed at 2006, too! Not only was The Office taking over television screens, but aviator sunnies and trucker hats were closet staples. What a time to be alive. If… Read more »

Panic! At The Disco reunited and performed as the headliner of this year’s When We Were Young Fest. The group played A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out in its entirety along with hits such as “House Of Memories,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and more. Excitingly, the band closed out with “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” with OG drummer Spencer Smith. But sigh, Ryan Ross did not appear on this festival. Many fans had “High Hopes” that he would be part of the reunion, while others woke up on Monday morning to say, “I told you he wouldn’t be there.” The Paradox x… Read more »

Let’s level with each other—the music in a movie can make or break the whole entire viewing experience. I mean, what would Star Wars and Jurassic Park be without John Williams’ beloved orchestral arrangements? Or, what would a viewing of Titanic be without the tear-inducing “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion? Of course, some movies are made better by rock and metal music. (Just look at any soundtrack from the Saw franchise.) These emo bands utterly transformed movies in the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s by being on the soundtrack. Waterparks graced fans with two demos, “CALL ME BEEP ME” and “TALKING TO MYSELF.” The drop follows the cancellation of INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY 2: LOST IN THE PROPERTY and the releases of “Guilt” and later “GH2024.” On Friday, August 2, the group took to Instagram to announce the cancellation of what would have been their sixth full-length album. “I no longer feel good about INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY 2: LOST IN THE PROPERTY and will be canceling the release,” the statement reads. “The sheer amount of unprecedented mishaps, bureaucratic red tape, and bizarre things that have gone wrong truly has me believing the… Read more »
