Liquid Audio Settles Patent Litigation Suit With Intouch Group


Liquid Audio, Inc., announced today that it has reached a settlement with Intouch Group in a patent litigation suit filed against the company in March 2000. The suit was originally filed in Federal Court in the Northern District of California (Case No. C-00-1156 DLJ) against Amazon.com, DiscoverMusic, Entertaindom, Liquid Audio, Inc., Listen.com and Muze. Terms of the settlement with Intouch remain confidential. "Eminem Show" Due in April


The Eminem Show, Eminem’s third full-length album and the follow-up to 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP, will hit record stores in April. With Dr. Dre, who also produced the rapper’s previous two releases, Eminem co-produced the record. A portion of one new song from the album, “Cleaning Out My Closet,” is featured in trailers for 8 Mile, the rapper’s quasi-biopic and star vehicle, and can be viewed at www.shadyrecords.com. The soundtrack to the film, scheduled for a summer release, will also feature new Eminem material.

No Doubt, R.E.M. Have Valentine's Day Gift For Bono


No Doubt, R.E.M. and others will honor U2 singer Bono at a Valentine’s Day fund-raising concert called Love Rocks: Celebrating the Biggest Hearts in Entertainment. Organized by the 60-year-old Entertainment Industry Foundation, the show will pay tribute to the Irish rocker for his widespread philanthropy and will also serve as the official launch of EIF’s National Cardiovascular Research Initiative. U2 had the Super Bowl halftime stage all to itself, and the Irish rockers delivered a moving tribute to America and the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
