Britney Spears Visits 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'

Britney Spears performed on The Oprah Winfrey Show in an interview that taped in Chicago on Friday (February 1) and aired nationwide Monday (February 4). The pop superstar performed “I’m a Slave 4 U” from her latest album, Britney. She also performed “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet A Woman,” which is also from the album and is featured in her upcoming movie Crossroads.

Spears got her start on The Mickey Mouse Club, as did Christina Aguilera, Keri Russell (Felicity), *NSYNC’s J.C. Chasez, and her current boyfriend, *NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake. Oprah Winfrey asked the singer if there is any competition between the former Mouseketeers who have made it big. “We’re all there supporting each other, if anything,” Spears replied. “I met Keri and a lot of them at an award show…and it was just like a reunion. It felt so good. It was just a cool feeling. We’re all out there doing our thing and experiencing our dreams.”

Spears also discussed her long-standing relationship with Timberlake, telling Winfrey that her very first kiss came from Timberlake more than eight years ago during a game of truth or dare. “We were playing truth or dare and we were listening to Janet Jackson-I think I was 12-and his friend dared him to kiss me. That was our first kiss,” she said.

Spears told Winfrey that she stays in shape with a workout that includes about 50 sit-ups each day, and she increases her tummy exercises to include between 500 and 1,000 crunches when she has a show or performance scheduled.

Spears’s Crossroads co-stars Dan Aykroyd and Kim Cattrall (Sex And The City) appeared on Winfrey’s show via video, and Spears’s younger sister Jamie Lynn and their mother Lynne were also briefly interviewed. Jamie Lynn stole the show when she issued a warning to her singing sibling, saying, “I’d like to be like Britney-maybe better-but I don’t want to outshine her. My advice to Britney is just scoot over because I’m coming through, and I’m gonna be the star pretty soon!”
