‘N Sync is revisiting its formative years in a one-hour video comprising previously unreleased footage from the days when the pop quintet flew coach and stayed in cheap hotels. “The Reel ‘N Sync,” shot and edited by band member Joey Fatone (news), will be released on DVD and VHS on Nov. 5, a spokesman for distributor Trauma Records said Wednesday. Smaller Internet music broadcasters are getting an extension on copyright royalty payments that would have been due Sunday, which means they can avoid shutting down. The webcasters will still have to pay up to $2,500 each in fees by Monday. But that is far less than the tens of thousands of dollars that many of them would have owed. Creed lead singer Scott Stapp (news) has offered his “sincere regret” to fans for the band’s recent tour-date postponements, and also announced a series of make-up dates in the cities affected. John Lennon’s killer was denied parole for a second time, New York state officials said today (Oct. 9) on what would have been the slain Beatle’s birthday. Releasing Mark David Chapman after 22 years in prison would “deprecate the seriousness” of the crime, the parole board said in a statement. The board said Chapman had “acceptable” behavior in prison but that didn’t guarantee he wouldn’t pose a threat to society. Veteran U.K. rock outfit Primal Scream has set a Nov. 26 North American release date for its domestic Epic debut, “Evil Heat.” The album, which features contributions from Robert Plant, Kate Moss, My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields, and the Jesus And Mary Chain’s Jim Reid, was released in August in the group’s homeland. The North American release of “Evil Heat” will be accompanied by a DVD featuring 45 minutes of bonus material.
